Dry dock day two
dry dock day 2:
after sleeping all day and recovering from our overnight the day before we were ready for round two of our overnight.
we were all a little more energetic, because I think we were all mentally prepared for it however just as I suspected by 2am our excitement had died. it was about that time we finally reached Freeport and we watched them dock the ship.
Drew and I did one last fire walk where we just check assigned areas to make sure the fire extinguisher ad escape routes were clear.
This evening they added a second step, we had to sign a paper at those locations. So that means SOME
people were not actually going to those places. tsk. tsk.
watching them pull the ship in and lowering the water was cool. it was probably about 60 degrees out at the warmest.
we got done with fire watch around 5:10am and Drew and I went straight to bed.
it's cold and rainy here in the Bahamas. but it's a nice change from the sunny and warm Cozumel and Honduras. It feels good walking by the doors and having a breeze.
They just installed wifi on the ship, and now the crew has free wifi from 7pm to 7am. Drew and I are both very thankful for that. it's not in our cabins yet but we live near a hotspot which happens to be the ships theater. we are literally two decks below it. however everyone and their third cousin are on it so getting any page to load is impossible at the moment.
I did some laundry today. that's another thing I miss. I miss having a personal washer and dryer. people just take your clothes out an leave them on the floor because they need the washer. it really makes me mad, because I would never do that to someone else I would just come back when it's empty like I have been for the past week! ugh.
oh well, it is what it is. just another notch on my list. this whole cruise life isn't my favorite but at least I have Drew to stick it out with me. it's a lifestyle change and it's not really a change for the better. I've met some really nice people and seen some really cool places but it's not worth giving up my dog, wifi, personal laundry, and well just my comfort zone. I'm not looking for a pity party I'm just expressing where I'm at. thankfully drew feels the same way. but we're making the best of it as we can because that's all we can do.
this has been day 2/3. we had today off but slept most of it because we worked over night yesterday. :-/ so our days off aren't really days off.
it is nice not having to be anywhere at a certain time. or deal with guests here and there but that novelty will wear off by the time February rolls around.
we love and miss all of you,
Lexi
