Lucky I'm in love with my best friend...

Okay so I'm not much a mushy gooshy PDA (personal display of affection) kind of person but this has just been sitting on my mind as a blog post and so here I go.

It's the little things in life that we often over look, things or people that are part of us every day. They become something that we take for granted; now you're probably thinking oh my gosh, Lexi who died? Nobody died, I just want to take time to publicly appreciate the man I married.

Drew is smart, witty, clever, resourceful, handsome, funny and ridiculous. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

This past first year of marriage was an adjustment. Two crazy kids who wanted to do their own thing now becoming one and having to comprise their wants and life styles. We learned first hand that love really is a game of give and take. Once we hit that one year hump, we decided to add another adventure to this new life we had already agreed too and that was traveling the Caribbean.

The two of us were separated for a month while we were on different ships and during that month God used that time to draw us closer together and draw us closer to Him. In which once we were reunited we appreciated the other one in a whole new way.

This past month traveling around the southeast with Drew had been a sweet and special time. We got to goof off, face the elements of tornados and flash floods, cherish time with our friends and families together.

The only other man that I have trusted this much or has meant this much to me is my dad. He was my running buddy, my tennis buddy, my turn to for advice and a good laugh. And letting that go on Sept 1st 2012 was very hard and I think that may have been part of my reluctantcy to this big change in my life. My dad is still relevant in my life, but it's different now.

It's been an adjustment, a learning experience but I wouldn't change it for the world. I love Drew Maples so much and I am SO thankful for what we have. For what God gave me in a relationship...in a husband.

Whether or not you have someone in your life. God's got a plan for your life. Never ever did 15 year old me see a 23 year old me, married and having a cruise contract under my belt living down the road from Walt Disney World, freshman Lexi would of said "yeah okay". Yet, here I am. BLOGGING about it!

These were some random thoughts I wanted to get out. Although it's borderline rambling I thank you for reading.

The summer is about to start and I'm sure there will be tons to report back about so stay tuned!

<3 Lexi
